Erasing an iPhone will remove all of the data and settings from the device. This is useful if you are planning to sell or give away your iPhone, or if you simply want to start fresh with a clean slate. Here’s how to erase your iPhone:
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset.
- Tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
- If prompted, enter your passcode or Apple ID password to proceed.
- Tap “Erase Now” to confirm.
Keep in mind that erasing your iPhone will delete all of your data and settings, including photos, apps, music, and documents. It is recommended to back up your important data before proceeding.
If you are selling or giving away your iPhone, you may also want to deactivate the device from your iCloud account. This will prevent the new owner from accessing your iCloud data. To deactivate your iPhone, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, then scroll down and tap “Sign Out.” You will need to enter your Apple ID password to proceed.
